2013 started with an enormous bang. My business was up and running, and the Lord blessed me with more clients than I knew what to do with! Shawn kept super busy with work (as usual) and our baby girl was growing in my belly. After Marlowe was born, life got crazy – and I wouldn’t have changed a thing!

We were blessed with a plethora of visitors, which I always love, we traveled out of the country, I started working again, we celebrated Halloween, Thanksgiving, our 6 year anni and we will be celebrating Marlowe’s very first Christmas on both the 25th and 26th! 2013 was definitely one of the most memorable years to date.

As 2013 comes to an end, and we prepare to welcome 2014 into existence, I will actually be sad to see it go. We will never have that time together again. We will never experience those specific emotions, scenarios or moments in the exact same way again.

However, I’m definitely looking forward to next year! Here are a few things that 2014 has in store for us:

*In March we’ll be moving to Colorado Springs, which just so happens to be our favorite place in the States!
*My sister and bro-in-law will most likely be moving to England, and there’s NO way we won’t be visiting them.
*We’re planning on visiting the Eileen Donan castle in Scotland – it belonged to my great, great, great grandpa, John Macrae-Gilstrap in 1911. It also happens to be one of the most photographed castles in all of Scotland
*Shawn and I will begin praying for a second baby sometime next August.

This was taken at my sister’s bridal tea shower. It was so beautiful; I’ve never been to a more glamorous shower!!

This was taken back in April, not long after we decided to name our daughter Marlowe.

Despite the excruciating pain that I felt when I bent down to take the picture below, I really wanted five-day-old pictures of my baby girl. It was well worth it!!

This is my lovely Mother-in-law with her first granddaughter!

Our first family session was a quickie, but we enjoyed it!

My Auntie Libby and other family members came to visit from Canada in early September. They absolutely LOVED Marlowe!

Repping four generations, right there!

My bestie came to visit in October all the way from Seattle! SO much fun!

This was Marlowe’s first fall festival. Pumpkins everywhere to match her hair!

NC’s State Fair was so huge. Like, ridiculously enormous. So much to do and see! SO fun!

We love BBQs at good friends’ places. Times like these will never be forgotten!

Speaking of never forgetting…. Marlowe’s first Halloween was a success, I think. #whitetrash

[Truly Sarah Photography] did an amazing job taking our family pictures! She managed to capture a few fun outtakes as well…

We took Marlowe to Canada (Niagara Falls and Toronto) in November. She was loved and cuddled by just about everyone in the family!

18

I know she won’t remember it, but I will. We went to our favorite restaurant in Toronto called The Marché. If you ever find yourself in T Dot, go there. You won’t regret the unique experience – it’s worth the money!!!

19

Marlowe learned to grab her feet the week we were in Niagara Falls. Aaaand as you can tell, she was all smiles! Such a happy baby!

(above, right) My Uncle Mark got to hold Marlowe for the first time and (below) my Auntie Jan got to feed her for the first time!
